“Lradadar”: Public TV and Advertising

The theme of “Lradadar” media critique club was Public Television’s right to air commercial advertisements.

The Ministry of Justice has initiated amendments to the Law on Television and Radio to return the right to air commercial advertisements to the Public Television, which was prohibited by law.

A number of media outlets disseminated a statement calling it an unjustified move without taking into account the opinion of the expert community.
During “Lradadar”, the distribution of public and private funds and their impact on television content were discussed. This right, on the one hand, will allow the Public TV to replenish the amount required for the digitization of the booths, and on the other hand, may affect the entire advertising market by changing the structure of revenue distribution.
