Fact-Checking Ahead of the 7 June 2026 Parliamentary Elections

On April 29-30, Dutch journalist and fact-checker Sietze van Loosdregt from the KRO-NCRV Pointer platform conducted a training for the representatives of “InFact Newsroom”.

Ahead of the June 7 elections, the training provided journalists and fact-checkers with an important opportunity to revisit the role of fact-checking in electoral processes, explore mechanisms for identifying disinformation, and strengthen the practical tools needed for effective work in this field.

During the training, participants also discussed the principles for selecting topics and the editorial workflow within the “InFact Newsroom”.

The training was organized as part of the “FactFront” project, implemented with the support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands, and “Initiative for Media Quality and Resilience (IMQR): Next Chapter in Media Empowerment” project funded by the European Union.
