Supporting media outlets for providing reliable information to the public

On November 10, the Media Initiatives Center NGO signed grant contracts with 9 media outlets for content creation and strategic development projects. They will promote discussion on issues of public importance and will strengthen the sustainability and viability of public interest media.

The content produced as part of these projects will fill information gaps and will provide audiences with evidence-based, data-driven, and in-depth analyses. This is particularly important ahead of Parliamentary Elections in 2026, when people will face significant decisions.

The projects were selected by an independent expert committee coordinated by the Media Initiatives Center.

  • Content Creation and Business Development Grants will be provided to the following media outlets: Infocom, Mediamax.am, A1Plus, Hetq, Factor.TV, and CivilNet. These grants will enable the media outlets to continue their ongoing operations, to produce new content, and to develop their business components by strengthening their financial independence. The total budget for this pool is 152,500,000 AMD.
  • Strategic Content Creation Grants will be awarded to Ampop.am, MediaLab, and GorisLab. These media outlets will use different genres and formats to cover topics of public interest by offering new approaches and storytelling methods. The total budget for this pool is 19,200,000 AMD. The duration of the selected projects is from 5 to 10 months.

Media Initiatives Center provides this support as part of “Resilient Voices: Strengthening Public Interest Media for Armenia’s 2026″ and “Initiative for Media Quality and Resilience” projects․

The project was funded with UK International Development from the UK government and co-funded by the European Union.
