Journalists Signed a Petition

On January 26, the Internews organized a roundtable on the topic legal protection of journalists and the necessity for legislative amendments. Representatives of participating journalists and journalists’ organizations discussed draft legislative additions, developed by the Internews and aimed at improvement of the legal protection of journalists. The participants then signed a petition directed at ROA NA deputies, parties and fractions. The roundtable was organized within the framework of the Favio Veritas project, implemented with the assistance of the Counterpart Armenia Civic Advocacy Support Program. The project is aimed at amending legislation to ensure objective and fair licensing and regulation of broadcasters’ activities in Armenia and improving mechanisms for legal protection of media professionals.
